Great question! When you use your personal identification number (PIN) to perform an ATM transaction or point-of-sale (POS) transaction, they will generally post to your account immediately. If you elect “Credit” and then sign for a POS transaction, it will usually post to your account within a few days.

For instances where there are multiple owners on an account and a specific purchase or ATM withdrawal needs to be identified, the last four digits of the related debit card number will display with each transaction on your monthly account statements, online banking and the mobile app.

We’re happy to shed some light on this! Generally, your PIN is not required when performing a point-of-sale (POS) purchase at a merchant. You can usually sidestep this by electing “Credit,” or simply tell the merchant you’d like to elect the credit option to avoid entering your debit card PIN.

If a merchant does require a PIN and you have forgotten it or need to reset it, contact us at 701-293-2400 and follow the prompts.
