Ordering your Gate City Bank debit card is easy! Here are the options:

• My School Spirit Card: This can be ordered online or picked up instantly at any Gate City Bank location.
• Custom Card: Please place your order using our online form and we will mail your debit card directly to you.
• Standard Card: This can be ordered online or picked up instantly at any Gate City Bank location.

You should expect to receive your card within 7-10 business days.

Stop by one of our 45 convenient locations for an instant-issue debit card, which is available for our standard Gate City Bank card design and My School Spirit card designs.

You can also order a debit card via our online form or by calling our Customer Service Center at 701-293-2400 or 800-423-3344, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CT. Your debit card will typically be delivered by mail within 7-10 business days. Please contact us if your card does not show up in a timely manner, and we'll be happy to assist you.

To report your debit card as lost or stolen through online banking:

• Log in to your online banking account and locate the option for “Control Debit Cards,” then click “Control Cards” to display your available debit cards.
• Locate the appropriate card, then confirm the right debit card is selected by viewing the last four digits displayed.
• Next, select the option to “Report Lost/Stolen Card” and select “Send” to notify us.

To report your lost or stolen debit card through the mobile app:

• Log in to your online banking account and locate the option for “Debit Cards”, then click “Control Debit Cards” to display your available debit cards.
• Swipe through the available debit cards as needed to locate the appropriate card, then confirm the right debit card is selected by viewing the last four digits displayed.
• Next, select the option to “Report Lost/Stolen Card” and select “Send” to notify us.

Once we’ve been notified, we’ll close the appropriate debit card within one business day. After your debit card has been closed, you’ll receive a message from us with information on how to order your new card.

Please review the following guidelines and helpful information when ordering your My Card Creation debit card.

Image Requirements:

• An image in JPG, BMP, GIF, PNG or TIF format.
• Minimum size: The file size should be at least 50 KB in size and at least 840 x 840 pixels.
• Maximum size: Image files cannot exceed 10 MB.

Content Considerations:

Mastercard reserves the right to determine whether a submitted image will be accepted or rejected. All images submitted must have the consent of the owner, including those images downloaded from the internet. Images that contain any of the following will be rejected:

• Trademarks, copyrighted materials, company names, logos, slogans, brands of any third party or any material that could infringe on copyright or trademark rights.
• Celebrities, actors, musicians, professional athletes, politicians or public figures of any kind .
• Cartoon characters or artwork that you’ve not created and/or don’t have permission from the copyright owner to use.
• People conducting or involving themselves in criminal or illegal activities or otherwise inappropriate behavior.
• Racial, political, religious or socially sensitive material.
• Provocative, lewd or sexual content, including nude or semi-nude imagery.
• Obscene, indecent or offensive material, including profanity or any other obscenities.
• Phone numbers, addresses, account numbers, personal identification numbers (PINs) or URL addresses.
• Any image we deem unacceptable to be associated with the Mastercard and/or Gate City Bank brand.

Note: Images that don’t meet the above guidelines will be rejected, and you’ll be notified via online banking message. From there, you are of course welcome to submit another image!

All debit cards from Gate City Bank now come equipped with an internal chip, which allows you to tap your card at any applicable terminal to make a payment. Typically, the terminal will beep once, confirming your payment has been accepted.

Note: In instances where retailers may not be equipped to accept Tap and Pay, you’ll still have the ability to insert the card’s chip or swipe the magnetic stripe.

Great news! Many big-box chains, grocery stores, gas stations and other establishments are now accepting Tap and Pay transactions! Just look for this contactless symbol:

The benefits abound! For one, you’ll find that tapping your debit card to pay is much faster than inserting or swiping your debit card. It’s also contactless, allowing you to simply hover the card above a terminal, listen for the beep and go about your day with your new purchase. Simple!

Absolutely! Your information is completely safe. Whenever the Tap and Pay option is used, your debit card’s number is replaced by a unique code, encrypting the transaction and ensuring security.

Not all previously issued Gate City Bank debit cards have the Tap and Pay functionality. If your debit card has the following symbol on the back side, you’re all set, and your current card has the Tap and Pay capabilities!
