Gate City Bank Receives Great Plains Food Bank Hunger Relief Champion Award

The highest honor given by Great Plains Food Bank each year, the Hunger Relief Champion award is given to those that display a steadfast commitment to the food bank’s mission of ending hunger, especially through community partnerships that foster a spirit of passion, service and innovation.

Through food and financial donations, volunteering and in-kind gifts, Gate City Bank has been among the largest supporters of Great Plains Food Bank in recent years. The bank is currently in the midst of a $250,000 long-term commitment to the Feed the Future campaign, and has provided support for hunger-relief programs and services since 1999.

In 2017, Gate City Bank presented Great Plains Food Bank with a newly designed semi-trailer for its fleet of seven trucks that travels a combined 500,000 miles annually. Additionally, team members from the bank’s 38 locations throughout North Dakota and central Minnesota have been regular volunteers with food drives, as well as the mobile food pantry and pop-up perishable food program distributions.
